I believe we are all uniquely created by God and have a divine purpose. Ephesians 2:10 says “ For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
When God designed
each of us, He equipped us with everything we would need to fulfill our
God-given purpose. He has given us gifts and skills that He wants to help us
develop over the course of our lives.
I feel God is working in me now. As soon as I wrote this it made me think of the song I
used to sing as a child, “He’s still working on me, to make me what I ought to
be, How loving and patient He must be 'Cause He's still workin' on me”. I feel that way now, that he is still working
on me to make me into the person he had planned for me to be. He is laying out
the path he has prepared and set for me. I want to live out his plan, live for
purpose, live intentionally. It’s hard sometimes to do that, especially in
today’s world where everyone is in a rush; it’s hard to slow down.
I am waiting
with patience for God to show me the rest of His plans for me. Waiting is not
easy. Waiting is hard. I am an impatient person sometimes. But waiting on God before
you act or decide allows time for you to think, pray and listen for that wisdom
God has promised. And sometimes it’s not always a matter of us waiting on
Him. Sometimes God is waiting on us…for
our character to catch up with His desire for us (or for His plans to become our plans).
I am trusting in
God. “Trusting God often requires not
knowing how God is going to accomplish what needs to be done and not knowing
when He will do it. We often say God is never late, but generally He isn't
early either. Why? Because He uses times of waiting to stretch our faith in Him
and to bring about change and growth in our lives. ” -Joyce Meyer
God’s
plan is for us to be faithful to him in everything we do. The big plan is to
follow him in all we do. Jeremiah 29:11 has been on my heart lately. “For I
know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper
you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
I am praying.
Lord, I believe that You created me for a
special purpose, and that You have a perfect plan for my life. I ask that You
fulfill Your purpose for me, and help me to do my part by earnestly seeking You
daily through prayer and Your Word. Thank You that as I seek You each day, You
will guide me along the “best pathway” for my life! (Psalm 32:8)
