Summer Fun-Camp Thurman

The girls had so much fun at Camp Thurman again this year. This was Sweet P's first time to attend the all day camp and she was exhausted every day after camp. This was Elle's fourth year to attend CT.

I love this camp because it is a Christian based camp.  They have a bible verse they memorize during the week. My girls favorites are the zipline and Tarzan Swing. Some of their activities include:
  • Four Pools to keep cool in the summer and to have fun splashing, sliding, or even zip-lining into!
  • Rope courses to navigate through the trees!
  • A 40- foot tall, four-lane Zipline!
  • A Giant Pendulum Swing and a Power Pole Trapeze Jump!
  • Crafts, Games, Skits, and Snacks!
  • Fun and exciting camp games such as Slap-Dodgeball and Capture the Flag!
  • And so much more!
Read more about Camp Thurman at the end of this post.

Sweet P's Counselor this year was Footprint

About Camp Thurman:

CAMP THURMAN is a non-profit organization that has been providing the best day camp in the Arlington/Pantego area since 1969 and the most effective team building adventures for more than 10 years!  We also have an exciting outreach to our community and select groups through Special Days. Our mission is to provide for all ages safe, fun, wholesome outdoor programs, which demonstrate God’s love, while helping individuals discover who they are in Christ.

Right in the heart of the city, we have 14 acres of trees, creeks, gulleys and more! Our “fun in the woods” Day Camp is for children ages 4 through those finishing fifth grade. In Day Camp, as well as in most of our other programs, the campers are placed in small groups of 10 to 12 children (all boys or all girls), with a Christian counselor and an assistant.  They participate as a group in all the various activities throughout the day.

We also have 5-hour Afternoon Explosion Camps for ages 7 to 11.

Our Afternoon/Evening Camps give 7th, 8th and 9th graders a chance to see what fun evening time at CT can be.  We have created a special atmosphere for our older campers with programs and activities just for their age, and now we are offering an Overnight Camp with that unique Camp Thurman touch for our 7th, 8th, and 9th graders.
Our Challenge Adventure programs on both high and low challenge courses offer an experience which can provide groups with opportunities to build better teams.
Our Community Outreach seeks to involve the community by partnering with families and groups in special programs and special days like our Family Treasure Day.
