Operation Christmas Child 2014

This was our second year to do Operation Christmas Child boxes. We decided on 4 boxes this year. For the girls 1 box age 5-9, 1 box 10-14 and the boys 1 box age 5-9, 1 box 10-14.

After reading this blog post from Mama Jenn we decided to use plastic boxes this year from Dollar Tree. We included the basics: cup, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, washcloth, notepad and pencils/sharpeners, all from Dollar Tree.  For the girls we found in the dollar section of Michaels a sewing kit and buttons. We put those along with some fabric a friend donated in a cute bag we found in the clearance section at Hobby Lobby. We also found some cute fabric and hair ties in the clearance section at Michaels.  For the boys we included cars and a couple other toys we had collected.  I found some fleece hats $.81 and one crochet hat $3.40 at Children's Place on sale. We also put a stuffed animal in each box.

We included this Let's Be Friend's Coloring Page in our box as well. I have a lot of great ideas on my Pinterest page.
